Diodea, (pronounced dye-o-DAY-a): Two piece reclining female figure. The name derives from the artist's experience as a naval electronic technician during the Korean engagement [USS Toledo, CA-133]... a diode being a two-element vacuum tube. At the time this piece was created the intent was to follow it up with a three-piece reclining figure, which would, of course, have been named Triodea, after the three-element vacuum tube, the triode. Triodea has been on hold, but will eventually materialize.
