she was a makeup assistant at the New York City Opera.
Seven years of work under the guidance of the South American woodcut
artist Antonio Frasconi, monoprintmaker Mauricio Lasanski, lithographer
Murray Zimiles and master etcher Rimer Cardillo did much to extend her
vision and influence her work.
Susan has traveled extensively in and around the art worlds of Europe,
particularly in England and France. She also loves sailing, beginning on
the Hudson River in her highschool years, and continuing with a summer
sojourn with Pete Seeger aboard the environmental sloop Clearwater,
sailing off the Isle a Moines with friends from Brittany and, quite recently,
on Puget Sound with friends from Seattle. Her love of the water extends
to white-water rafting, and she has tackled most of the major rivers of
the Western United States, including the infamous Snake and Rogue Rivers.
Susan's recent work has consisted mainly of acrylics, printmaking and collage.
